ANNOUNCEMENTS
Congratulations to GBFA's Health & Wellness rep Vanessa Breault Mulvey for receiving certification as an Andover Educator in February. The Andover Educators are a group of musicians trained to teach Body Mapping. In workshops and lessons they guide musicians to natural, free movements through the refinement of body maps. The organization was founded in 1997 by Barbara Conable, teacher of the Alexander Technique, and author of the book, What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body (GIA). The book and companion course are used by performers and teachers alike. For more information about The Andover Educators visit http://www.bodymap.org. Congratulations to GBFA's Irish flute rep Shannon Heaton!
Matt & Shannon Heaton's latest CD, "Lovers' Well" is four months old! For her outstanding Irish flute work on this new CD, Shannon received The Irish American News Female Musician of the Year award: "A great singer, but Shannon's flute playing on Lovers' Well is so stunning she had to receive this Award. She is beautifully accompanied by husband Matt on a variety of instruments in an album that celebrates both love itself and Irish music... Her technical ability is matched only by her taste and grasp of the music." --Bill Margeson. To celebrate with fellow flute lovers, Shannon is offering GBFA members CDs for just $10 through August 1st (shipping included). To receive online OR mail order instructions, email info@EatsRecords.com
